The National Economic Index (the website and the iPhone, iPad and Android app) is an independent project run by Alexander de Royal. “We” and “us” below mean the project. You can reach us through the contact page.

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how people find the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and referring site. See how Google uses this data. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies.
• Preferences in your browser. Your stock watchlist, alert settings, which alerts you've read and similar preferences are stored in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are never sent to us.

• No account and no analytics. The app has no sign-up, no advertising and no analytics or tracking SDKs.
• On-device storage. Your watchlist, alert settings and read state are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.
• Data requests. To show economic data, quotes and news, the app requests them from our server, the same way the website does.

If you send a message, we receive your name, email address and message by email so we can reply. The message is delivered through our email provider, Resend. We use it only to respond to you and delete correspondence once it's no longer needed.

Like any website, our hosting provider (Vercel) briefly keeps standard request logs, including IP address, time and the address requested, to run the service and protect it from abuse. Requests from the app pass through the same servers.

• We don't sell, rent or share personal information with anyone for marketing.
• We don't run ads or ad trackers.
• We don't track you across other apps or websites.
• We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

News headlines and data sources link to third-party sites such as publishers and statistical agencies. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave this site or app.

You can clear your preferences at any time by clearing your browser's site data or deleting the app, and you can opt out of analytics as described above. To ask what we hold about you from a contact message, or to have it deleted, get in touch through the contact page.
